I just purchased a 1994 Ford F150 XL - origianlly a 5speed manual, but converted to a 4 speed by previous owner.

When I bought it a week ago - no leaks. I just drove it to work for the first time and now it seems to be leaking fluid (trans?) from the trans. The bottom side of the trans is coated with what appears to be oil or trans fluid.

There is a hose the goes from a fill spout under the hood down into the drivers side of the trans. Thing is, the connection where this hose enters the trans is very loose, and I wonder if thats why its leaking. The fill spout on this says brake fluid, which is why I am confused.

Should't this fitting into the side of the trans be tight? I am hoping this is the source of the leak, and not a crack in the trans...
