2001 S'Crew tranny & seat probs

I just picked up my 2001 SuperCrew from the dealer. I took it in for the 15,000 mile service and had them check on a "tranny" problem. Seems like many people have had a similar problem. Here's how I explain it...if you are driving, say coasting up to a stale red light and it turns green, when you give it a little gas, I felt a definite clunk noise. Maybe you could say when it "downshifted" there was a clunking noise. My S'Crew has been doing this for quite awhile. At first the dealer said there was nothing wrong. After one last test drive, it did it for the mechanic! After some more investigation, including dropping the transmission down, (my husband was quite heartbroken they had to take his "baby" apart) turns out this is a "known" problem with 2001s. The mechanic said that with models built in the last few months of 2000 and the first few months of 2001 a "snap-ring" was the culprit. He said that his dealership has already done 3 or 4. (I don't live in a giant city!) I can't tell you if it's all fixed because I just got it back, I'll let you know if I feel it again. BTW, when I picked up my truck, the driver's seat was broken. I have manually operated seats - the lumbar adjustment doesn't work properly now, the seat "bulges" in the back and there's definitely something metallic loose inside the seatback. The dealership says they'll fix it, but how long will I have to be without my truck this time? And it sounds like they actually have to take my seat apart, not what I want! I do still love my truck though!
