shifting problems

I posted on the engines, but not sure what's going on. Thought it might have been a TPS problem due to I can hook the old one back on or just late it dangle and it shifts fine, but in and out of passing gear to much at low speeds.
I can reset the computer and the truck shifts fine for about a mile. then same old story, take off and will not shift to the next gear until I let off the gas or try to keep rpms real low, which is impossible when you pull out into oncoming traffic. Should change to secoond around 15 or 20 mphs, but can get to 30 -35 mph and still will not change until I let off the gas slightly then it will change to the next gear. Any idea what to look for, so some old archives, but did not see what resolved any problems.

Thanks
Ron

Get a code reader. You can pick one up at most auto parts stores, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, etc. It should be about $25.

There may be a code stored that will help. I suspect the vehicle speed sensor.
