Question TC draining ?'s

This is my first attempt in draining the TC. Does the TC drain plug have a gasket that has to be replaced ,like the oil pan drain plug? If so what what size and type is needed?(E40D) Also does it have to be torqued or a tight fit will suffice. thanks in advance, tk2

The torque converter drain plug is a pipe plug, so it does not have a gasket.

It should be torqued like all plugs and fasteners. I don't have the torque spec, though.

tk2-

22 ft./lbs. It can be re-used, contrary to the service manuals.

Thanks Max, because my Helm manual says to replace it after one use.

Y2kXLTSport-

You're Welcome. My Ford dealership couldn't find it in the catalog and told me that he's never seen one stocked there in years of parts/service work.
