Question Transgo Help Line

DOES ANYBODY HAVE A EMAIL ADDRESS OR PHONE # FOR TRANSGO HELP/TECH. LINE?
I HAVE HAD THE KIT IN MY 4R70W TRANNNY FOR A COUPLE MONTHS NOW AND IT SEEMS IT SHIFTS IN TO 2ND HARDER AT ABOUT 3/4 THROTTLE,THENAT FULL THROTTLE. ALSO THE 2 /3 SHIFT IS QUICKER THAN THE 1/2 SHIFT AT ANY THROTTLE POSITION? I WANT THAT HARD SHIFT AT FULL THROTTLE, AND I'M WONDERING IF SOMETHING IS MAYBE SLIPPING AT FULL THROTTLE. TRUCK HAS 50K ON IT AND RUNS EXCELLENT SO I SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THAT 2ND GEAR CHIRP OUT OF THE TIRES RIGHT??????

I posted it here before, the search feature is turned back on so you should be able to find it.

Hello KENSTOWELL, I remember your orignal post regarding the Transgo install. I managed to get mine done since then as well and chose the middle setting refered to in the directions as "hotrod with stock torque converter". I did'nt use all the stuff in the kit cuz according to the directions some of it was not needed. I also reused the original gaskets because they matched the valve body and separator plate more closely than the ones in the kit, that might have been a mistake but all seems well so far.

I also noticed that WOT shifts are just a little softer than at 3/4 throttle but not by much. More noticeable to me was that at WOT shifts take a little longer than at part throttle and I expected just the opposite. It's almost like I'm hitting the rev limiter for a second before the shift occurs. I'm not sure if it's becuase of the program in the 'puter or becuase I didnt use the sonnex valves.

I'm not able to get that crisp little chirp on the 1-2 shift either and to be honest I was a little disappointed. I attribute this to the small motor/heavy truck syndrome. I did the install at 20,00 miles and next time I drop the pan I will do the sonnex valves and possibly use the gaskets that came with the Transgo kit.

I hope this gives you some insight and can help in some way.
BTW, if you do find out anything from Transgo or elsewhere please do post it so we can all be better informed.

Good luck and go easy on the caps, lol.

Same thing here with my Expy (4R100). 2-3 it much "crisper" than 1-2 and WOT it's not as "crisp" or I should say it doesn't "BANG" like you'd think it would. Normal driving playing with holding it out a little and 1/2 to 3/4 throttle can get some really nice littl *swat's* in the butt.

I think hard shifts at heavier throttle is a good thing for me. I tow over 7000# and if I'm entering a frwy I'm sometimes on it pretty hard and it just shifts nice a quick.

Hello KENSTOWELL, sorry for the late reply. Your tramnsmission does not have Sonnax vales in it. Sonnax is a company that makes high performance replacement trans mission parts. The two items for our trannys most commonly replaced are the Pressure regulator valve and the Bypass clutch control valve. You can read about them here. I didnt replace them cuz I have low mileage so far but I will at 40,000 mile.

Good luck Ken.
