Manual fluid change and synthetics?
I too would like to know the general concensis on the use of synthetics in the manual transmission. I have seen it said that there is an improvement in shifting with the synthetic. The use of synthetic is really our only option to get these things to shift decent.
Anyone want to throw in thier two cents?

As far as I can see, I see no use in using anything else non-synthetic...brakefluid,P/S fluid, Lube fluids...
In the M/T it has ATF, you will notice increased shifting ease...better fuel mileage, lower operating temps, longer change intervals, less noise...etc..
I usually will go with synthetics and then never worry about it again....

I switched to Amsoil synthetic in my 5sp manual tranny at around 25k miles in the hope that it would smooth the shifting a bit..
I noticed no difference in shifting. The oil that was removed from the tranny still looked to be in pretty good shape too..

I use Mobil-1 ATF....
...and it doesn't change color even after two or three years in there. Great stuff. Can't say changing manual transmission fluid will increase your mileage or or make any other snake oil-type claims, but it lasts really well here in the Texas heat.

I once changed manual transmission fluid in my Mitsubishi 3000GT. I used a product from a company called Redline Oil, and was very impressed with it. Shifting action was MUCH improved.
