O/D on off switch???

The 5amp fuse that controls this switch keeps blowing. I figure its probaly a ground problem. But I'm curious if anyone else has experianced this and if so, what did you do to fix it?

I tow my boat 3 or 4 times a week, always with the O/D turned off. I go thru a fuse a week. It's getting to be a pain in the butt to keep replacing them.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Redbone.

This is a very common problem.

Look for a bare/ungrounded wire inside the shift lever leading up to the Overdrive ON/OFF switch.

Before you begin, disconnect the battery so you don't blow any other fuses.
