The little plastic thing is from assembly. Just throw it away. It should kind of look like a plunger. I think there was a discusssion on here earlier that had a pic.

primetime's right if you're talking about what was in the bottom of the pan.

You'd just want to make sure you got any valves back together with all the pieces.

As for the hole, you should be able to judge from the drill bits you got, assuming you got bits with the kit. Depending on which holes, like the exhaust holes on the VB by the line mod, aren't real picky about the size.

Hi,
Well, got all the pieces back together, thanks for the help, Mike if you do read this, I called ford and they said when you drop just the pan it takes six, I only ended up putting about 4.5 in or soo. Total was around 9 or 10, I think thats because the valve body was total empty. the dip stick is cool so I'm going with it. Well here is the pic of the filter piece I was talking about, I found a spot on the top side of the valve body and so far no problems, if anyone knows where it go's or if I did right please let me know, thanks again for all the help!!!!

I don't mean to cause any stress, but from the picture that looks like the filter that goes up in the tranny before you bolt the VB back up. In mine which is a 4R100, it was round. The Transgo instructions should mention this as well I think.

Can anyone ID and confirm from the picture?

I'm curious what came of this. Anyone, does that look like the filter above the VB? I'm not sure how similar the 4r70W is to the 4R100.

Hi Familyride,
I installed it above the VB, It was the only place I could find that it would fit, plus it looked to be in an area were fluid was draining back in or out, Well all in all everything is running fine!!,But then again if anyone has seen the pic I posted above and has done the same thing let me know!!

That filter is NOT out of a 4R100.

The 4R100 and the 4R70 don't have anything in common (well, they're both 4 speeds, I guess) They're very different from each other, set the two down on the floor next to each other and you'll see. The 4R100 is just a BIG tranny, I mean, well, it's huge, the 4R70 looks like a little toy next to it.
