I just called one of the local ford dealers (Northside Ford) and asked the service department which fluid I should be using for several different items. ( Tranny, front and rear diff., and Xfer case ) Service didn't have a clue, they sent me to parts dept. The parts dept. didn't have a clue either. It makes you wonder how
they now what to use when you take your vehicle in for fluid changes!!
They refered me to my owner's manual. I do have it but just wanted to hear what they had to say.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Shortly after I got my new truck, I called and spoke to the service manager at my dealer to inquire about the spec for 5w-20 motor oil and if I could use 5w-30 synthetic instead. To my amazement, he had no clue that the '01 and newer vehicles called for 5w-20! He actually said it was the first he'd ever heard of it.

Needless to say, I'll not be going to the dealer where I purchased the truck for ANY service.

What type of trainging if any did they get ?
