I am planning to put a 4.6 transmission from a crown Vic transmission in my f150

I have a 1999 f150 with a 4.6 and the trans went out and I found a transmission out of a crown Vic and I was wondering if the trans will work the truck is 2wd and so was the crown Vic

I used to have a 95 Mark VIII Lincoln. As I remember, the forum members recommended the 99 and up F150 trans as a replacement because it had some improvements over the 95 4R70W.
