Transmissions are rated by torque, not horsepower. The 4R70W is rated for 700 lb-ft at the input shaft. That is about 350 lb-ft at the engine.
That should be in the neighborhood of 350 HP.

Just curious, you've posted that same question a couple times at least. I'd say it's a bit odd unless you're planning on serious engine mods.
And I'd have to say, I'm not sure I'd trust 700 lbs of torque to my 4R100. If you're making that kind of torque, you've either got one strong diesel or a major built engine making 500-600 HP. If you're investing that much, a tranny built for it is a drop in the bucket.

ya my bad i was hitting the wrong button and didn't mean to post it more than once.....ya i am planning on having 400hp and i am confuised on tourqe.....and how could i figure out how much is being put to the tranny...and if ur wondering, ya i don't knwo that much about my truck but i'm so willing to learn!
