2006 f150 slips in 3rd

I have a 2006 f150 xlt. Trans shifts into reverse and d1 and d2 no problem then 3rd slips Step on the gas and downshift and flies. Changed fluid and filter, no metal only a little black substance on pan and magnet. Read codes- no codes. Used my Autel and no codes. Any advice before I buy a new trans?

Buying a new trans is a little over the top.....shifting is actuated by electronics and the employed by the solenoids in the valve body...... IMHO, better do some diagnostics 1st... especially with the shift solenoids.

Are you saying it has 1st and 2nd, but when it shifts to 3rd it slips? What about if you turn overdrive off? Will it shift into overdrive if you are going 40 mph or faster and you lift your foot?
