auto to manual swap

a friend has an 04 f-150 4.6L triton that has the auto changed over to manual transmission. how much atf should i put in the manual transmission?

All of the manual transmissions I'm familiar with and all are very old are filled to the level of the fill plug on the side.

You add until it comes out the fill hole on a level surface. Assuming it's a M5OD.

If it's a M5OD, capacity from dry is 7.4 pints. If it's a ZF5, 6.8 pints. ZF6 is somewhere around 12 pints.
