I have a similar issue, engine starts/runs fine, but after a few miles the tranny no longer engages until letting it cool down for 10 minutes.....but i have an automatic e4od. I dont see what would be common on both. Please let me know what the shop sez.

 

No even close. Automatics and manuals are substantially different.
