Not sure if this is the correct category but.... I have recently purchased an 08 f150 fx4 4 door 6.5 ft bed (a replacement for my 04 f150 that was totaled by a drunk driver) when I got the truck the overdrive light would not come on but the overdrive switched in and out perfectly now the od off light has come on and will not go off overdrive still functions properly but I cannot get the light to work properly. This is by far the nicest vehicle I have been able to afford and I want it to be perfect. Any help on this would be extremely appreciated.


04 f150 rolled three times and my wife, 2 kids and me all lived. God bless ford trucks!




The replacement for our lost family member.

 

Take the plastic cover off of the steering column. Inspect the wires where they enter the shift handle. They often wear through or break right there and cause this problem.
