NEED HELP ASAP...I got a shift seliond b malfunction when scanning my 97 f150. It won't go into 3rd gear its like it's not there, but shifts back down to 2nd no problem. My question is where is the seliond at so I can replace it?

 

Have you checked the level of transmission fluid?

Also, what model is your transmission? You can get this from the certification label on the door.

 

The shift solenoids in most transmissions are located inside the pan.
