Grinding Noice Intermittent

Hey Everyone. This is my first post because it is my only significant issue that has come up.

I have a 2006 F-150 4x4. Today I was accelerating after a yield when a grinding noise came from what sounded like the transmission...or directly beneath the gear shifter.
My first instinct was to put her in neutral. So , I placed transmission in neutral for a few seconds, then back into drive. Problem seems to have gone away..but I have only driven a few miles after this issue.

I got home looked around and noticed nothing irregular. Transmission fluid levels look correct.

My questions are:
1. Have any of you experienced this? If so, what was the repaired part?

2 Should I be heading into a transmission shop ASAP about this?

Check the fluid level and see if it does it again.
