Swapping trannies

Hi,yall are probably going to think I'm crazy, but here goes.Tranny went out on '07 F150 4.2l 2wd.Wifes nephew sez he has a low mileage tranny for cheap.Yeah,I know.Pay him for it,he slings it halfway in,leaves me holding the bag.I find out after finishing the install myself.Im a carpenter, not a mechanic. So I find out that its an AOD or E4OD out of a '95 Mustang with 75,000 miles. No OD light and trans fault ,check engine light as well,no engine power.Any suggestions, other than dont do this again?

That swap is not workable. The E4OD uses a completely different computer. You have an electronic nightmare on your hands. You need a 4R70 out of a 05-08 F-150 with a V-6.

Transmission from 95 Mustang would be an early 4R70W. The gear ratio is correct, but the internal wire harness is pinned differently and that model transmission case has no provision for the turbine speed sensor. The only way to fix this is install the correct transmission with the correct sensors.

2005 and newer 4R75E has the extra sensor.

Maybe after almost 20 years my memory is wrong, but I think the '95 Mustang was the last vehicle that had an AODE. It was almost a 4R70W, but not quite.
