Hello everybody I'm new to the group and thanks for having me. I have 09 f150 screw 4x4 5.4 lariat. Don't know if this is something to worry about but I thought y'all might could help. Today I got in truck cranked up put in gear and it acted like it was in a bind and then realized it was in 3 so went to D and done right then. Then I tried 1 and 2 and it seemed to take off just fine so why does 3 not want to pull. Thanks for reading

 

Because starting in third gear is sluggish. That's why there are two lower gears, to get the truck moving. When you start in third instead of first it's going to be sluggish. It's working as designed, time to move on.
