Question Baumann or Transgo??

I am thinking of installing a shift kit into my 2000 F-150 5.4L with the 4R70W transmission. I previous owned a 1998 F-150 4.6L and 4R70W transmission with a Trans-Go kit. I know both are good kits and have read the threads related to both.

I am leaning toward the Baumann kit because after I installed the Trans-Go kit, I noticed a whisteling sound from the transmission. Never had any problems other than that, kit worked as advertised. Has anyone else noticed the whistling sound with the Trans-Go or Baumann kits or any other problems?

Thanks

I can't believe it. I installed a Baumann shift kit in my '00 F-150 a while back and for whatever reason, I installed a Transgo shift kit in my '95 Tbird SC. Guess what .... the transmission makes a "whistling" sound as well. It's only noticeable pulling into a driveway or similar. I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature yet. I consequently sold the car to my father-in-law and he hasn't noticed any strange noises so I'm not in any rush to pull the pan off. The Baumann kit has been flawless from day one. I only have it on level 3 and I would have changed it to level 4 along with installing the Sonnax valve but I'm in the process of selling my F-150 to make room for a '02 F-350.

Good luck.

Exclamation TransGo

Must be the TransGo kit. My 98 F-150 did the exact same thing, only noticed it at idle in the garage. It annoyed me nonetheless.

Thanks for the response.

I haven't noticed any strange noises after having my Transgo kit for a while.
