4R70E to 4R70E

Looking for some guidance...I have a 2005 F150 with a 4.2 v6 and a 4R70E automatic that is fried (vin 5NB23869). I have the opportunity to get a 4R70E from an 06 F150 (VIN 6NB42830)...will these interchange? what is the difference? Any direction on this would be great...

If it has a 4.2 it should interchange. If it came out of a 4.6 it definitely will not, different bellhousing pattern.

trans question

Ok...I will confirm that it was a 4.2. That said every source I see says that the 4R70E was unique for 05 but I see it in the 06 models...I wonder what in the big picture changed from 05 to 06? As additional info the car-parts search differentiates two years too but they are both called out as 4R70E's...never as easy as it should be...
