Exclamation E4OD3rd gear and TC lockup issue

just recently my e4od (93) will have a firm shift into 3rd and immediately will lock the tc it locks fast almost like another gear (when it will lock at the right time). Not really sure how to explain thia but it feels like it has a sloppy shift even though it doesn't the tc lock up after or at the same time as 3rd makes it feel that way. Is this normal? trans is a rebuild with upgraded parts and shift kit.(soon will be switching to Pauls Built e4od). I posted here because I can't get much help in the pre 97. Thanks for your help! Please ask questions if you have any!

It is normal for many of the computer calibrations to lock the converter right after the 2-3 shift.

Is there a way I can make it lock up later so it doesn't feel or sound like a sluggish shift?

Yes, you can. All it takes is an aftermarket chip. All of the shifting and lockup decisions are made in the computer. There is nothing that you can change in the transmission to affect this.
