borrowed a truck from a lady couple years ago, heard a clunk at approx 50 mph
lost high, & drove back in low
bought the truck assuming i would have to put a tranny in
went & finally picked it up the other day, noticed the tach wasnt working
trans has low and reverse at this point, kinda feels like it wants to pull in 2 & 3, but i didnt push it
tranny fluid nice color & no smell
anyhow, the tach fuse also runs the trannsmission control or something, replaced fused (it looked like it had went through violent blow out) and tach started working'
fuse has not reblown, and in the default start up mode, the tranny is as before
with the OD off button, the transmission appears to work properly in 1,2,3, & r, shifts automatically or manually
what direction should i be looking?
thanks for the help

When the shift handle is in OD, does the trans act like it is in neutral? But it will pull when the shift handle is in 1? If so, the problem is a failed overdrive one way clutch. The trans has to come out and be partially torn down to replace it.
