I had my tranny fluid & filter changed at my dealer about 6 weeks ago. Granted my truck does have about 67k on it. The other week coming home from a 450 mile trip it just seems to go into neutral. It downshifted from OD into 3 or 2 and the motor revved high and then went into neutral. I left off the gas and it seemed to re-engage itself and went back to normal. Well, that was a one time thing I thought. I didn't know what happened, but I brushed it off as a fluke. This past weekend, coming back from another longer drive, it did the same thing. Surged a couple of times and then the motor quit. The truck coasted. (I didn't know it would coast that way in drive....) I put it in neutral, turned on my 4-ways. I thought I was screwed. I tried firing the engine, but nothing. It was turning, but no ignition. As I slowed even more on the shoulder, it finally caught. I dropped it back in gear and off I went. It went through a couple of the shifting episodes the rest of the way home. I have checked the fluid level and it is fine. I called the dealer to make sure they used Mercon V and they assure me they did. Any ideas? Help!!!
