manual 5 speed help

Hello Gents,

I have a 99 F150 4.2L with the 5 speed manual (96,000 miles). Today I heard a loud whining while driving around from the tranny and loud knock once I got moving out of 1st gear. Also, the ABS light came on. I pulled over and turned the truck off and checked for leaks. There were none. When I started back up, the ABS light didn't come back on, but the whining persisted. Any suggestion before this becomes a money pit?????????

It seems like you are hearing the ABS run up. Check for codes for the brakes.

My ODB took a crap on me, so I decided to risk driving over to Advanced Auto to get them to check the codes. As soon as I pulled out of the driveway, it sounded like someone was running a rock crusher under my truck. Just to rule it out, I parked and pulled off the rear diff cover. I found all the bearing rollers laying in the bottom. So yeah, I guess that's my problem, lol
