Transmission range sensor or bad tcase rebuild

I have a 1997 Lariat 4r70w automatic, 4.6l, msof 4x4 bw4406. Minor rebuild of my transfer case, new oil pump, fork inserts and seal kit, flushed and refilled w/Mercon V.
I had previous probs with transmission range sensor, neutral was reverse, reverse was drive, etc. I replaced it with a used one and adjusted it, all was well until a week ago. Now in drive it will not take light throttle, bogs to the point it wants to die then runs fine, just to repeat itself every 2 seconds. Takes WOT ok.
Installed tcase and front axle doesn't engage hart to shift manual linkage to 4x4. Indicator lamp for 4x4 does illuminate, In park speedo jumped to 35 mph like I was driving. With msof 4x4 in any position I have a grinding noise when moving gear selector back to park. Truck will not move in 4x4.
Does all of these problems point to a bad or alignment proble with the transmission range sensor?
Lost my job and need this truck on the road to job hunt.
