4r100 id code

Good Morning!
i have a 1C3P-BB coded 4r100 trans in my 01 F250 superduty 4x4. This model is crazy expensive to have rebuilt or rebuild myself or replace. What is the issues with replacing this code with a different coded 4r100? The codes just control shift points and emissions correct?
Thanks for any and all help!!

There are no emissions on a transmission. Shift points are controlled in the PCM, not in the transmission. The part number that you're quoting is the model. It specifies things like which bolt pattern is on the engine side of the trans, which torque converter, different strength internals, and some changes in the valve body to control shift firmness.

If you replace it with a different part number it may not bolt to the engine, or it may not bolt to the transfer case, or it may not be strong enough for your engine.
