Transmission Fluid

I have a 2000 f150 4.6, I checked the Trans. fluid today and it was
right at the bottom of the cross section. Would that be considered low?

Thanks in advance.

You could add part of a quart to bring the level up to the middle of the cross hatch.

Let us assume you checked it with the engine/trans warm and you had shifted through all the gears and then placed it in park with the engine running.

If it is still low, turn it off and crawl under the truck looking for signs of a leak. If it is rear seal, not too bad. Any other leak may be a bit more dificult to fix.

Thanks for the reply, Your assumption is correct the engine was warm and I went through the gears.

If the fluid touches the cross hatch would that be considered OK.
