2nd gear problem?

Have a 2004 F150. My tranny shifts fine and dosn't seem to slip at all but I have noticed that if I am in drive and I manualy shift into 2nd it seems to loose power and as soon as I shift it back I can feel the power again. If I start out in second gear it seems as if it has no power? I can floor it from a dead stop (in D) and it shifts firn threw all the gears. I can't figure out what would be causing the tranny to do this. I have a warr. and am wondering if this is something that I should be worried about or is it just me?

I have the exact same issue and have no idea why.

When you start with the shifter in 2 the trans starts in 2nd gear, not 1st gear. That will make it seem like it is down on power. It's normal and working as designed.

it is bad if I go from drive to 2nd (say at 20mph) it dosn't feel like it is holding rpms, not like its slipping but seems to be loosing power?

That may be Mark, but I'm not convinced there isn't a problem. I can floor it in 2nd and have no power. I have power through 2nd gear if the shifter isn't in 2nd. I can also maintain steady throttle in 2nd with little power and shift up to 3rd and have instant power and no noticeable gear shift.
