solenoid what do they do

solenoid what do they do

my 99 f150 will not shift right after heating up not sliping is this the solenoid or something else.also when u go to the highlo to get the codes will that also give me any codes for my trans.one more thing if i drain my torkconverter how do u get the fluid back in.hope thats not to stupid i just don't know can't seem to find a anser not much good with this computer stuff either.

It's impossible to say from here. It will take some diagnosis. That starts with reading the codes.

I have no idea what a highlo is. The codes for both engine and transmission are read together from one connector.

It fills through the transmission dipstick tube.

high lo is an auto parts store here in houston they did a free computer check on my truck found no codes.

Parts store scanners usually cannot read transmission codes.
