Sounds like marbles in a dryer
Ok folks my 05 4x4 has a sound when I'm barely moving, like when your in the drive through and easing up to the next window slow. It sounds kinda like marbles in a dryer tumbling but not that loud. I can only hear it at very slow speeds. I had this before and after I rebuilt my motor.
I didn't put a new TC in while I had the motor out( mistake I know ) because I thought most of the noises I heard were coming from the motor. It's hard to isolate the sound because I don't hear it when the truck is it at idle and I get underneath it with my stethoscope. It's only when barely moving that I hear it
and it sounds like it's coming from the the rear of the motor or the bell housing area.
Anybody else experience a sound like this on your truck? Any ideas would be helpful. I'm planning to rebuild my trans but was hoping to get another year out of it. It's got 175K on it now. I would appreciate any ideas on where this sound may be coming from and if it could mean a imminent failure. I don't want to end of up on the side of the road unexpectedly.

I checked the U-joints and there all tight with no play in them. I think I need to find someone who has an 05-08 and take a drive in it just to compare. When I bought this truck it was knocking and ticking so much I don't really have a good reference for what it should sound like. Maybe I'm just hypersensitive to every little noise I hear after rebuilding my motor. This noise is pretty subtle, I doubt most people would even notice it if they got into my truck.
