2001 f150
If it's the light flashing, it has detected a transmission issue and it's storing trouble codes in the PCM. Take it to a shop that has a code reader capable of reading Ford transmission codes for a diagnosis.
I have the same problem 2000 f-150 no codes and tried mlps sensor. Shop said there is a know problem where the case wares away around some pins that hold a clutch assembly which in turn allows pressure to drop causing the shift problem?? Anyone else herd of this???
The shop i took my truck to has a well known rep for troubleshooting. I Paid 130bucks to them for the service. I have no dash lights or anything flashing. To futher explain the recipt reads the bore in the case wallows out on the direct drive clutch causeing erratic shifting? It sees to be affecting all gears mostly upon deceleration. I gambled and drove the truck 400 miles to the lake this weekend. And was able to adjust my driving style to keep it from happing too much at all. In fact with the cruise on at 70 in od pulling a small jetski it seemed to be runnin perfect. So just looking for second opionon. Or if anybody had used the identafix system cauce this is where my shop found a bulitin on this problem. Thamks again.

2001 F-150 Harley addition. Ovefrive light is flashing and the service light is on. Turned it off and the off light is off and the service light is still on. truck drives fine....but scared to drive it to work.....might break down
Yes, it might. Those lights mean something is wrong and codes have been stored. You need to get it to someone that can read the codes and diagnose what's wrong. The auto parts stores can't do it.
