Hey guys I've been here many times before on my old account which was lostyone50 anyways I'm having my auto transmission rebuilt and was wondering if there was any kind of upgrade I can do or better fluid to have the shop use?? Thanks much by the ways I have a 2000 5.4 4x4 any help would be greatly appreciated as I am having it done before te end of the week thanks

 

add a higher stall converter. i love mine!

 

Wats the purpose of thatt and wat it cost you

 

better acceleration. mine is a 2400 stall so it is good for daily driving, i wouldnt go any higher than that. im not sure how much it cost because it came with my new transmission. i think you can get them for around $500

 

You can do a search for built transmission on the web. I had mine done 2 weeks ago and i love it. I had the following added:

Red Band Kevlar Clutches
Upgraded shift kit
Upgraded stall converter

The truck accelerates better in all gears, including OD. Shifts are firm and quick. No hunting for gears. Immediate response moving out of OD to passing gear.

 

I'm leaner more toward some kind of shift kit what's a good brand and also any special fluid
