transmission I.D tag

transmission I.D tag

1998 ford f150 i am looking for the tag on the tranny and can,t find it can someone tell me where it is on the tranny ???

It's on the driver's side of the trans just behind the shift lever.

i don,t see the tag but the code on the door sticker sez it,s U for tranny can this be translated into a F85P-HA or F85P-CA ????

No, it can't. All the U can be translated into is a 4R70W.

dam i guess it,s under the truck again or do i need the tag I.D for replacement??

You shouldn't need the ID tag for a replacement.
