vss swappable from a 99 to a 2000

vss swappable from a 99 to a 2000
Is the vss swappable from a 99 to a 2000.
As I swapped my 4r70w tranny the connector end is different, so can I just take the one from my original 99 tranny and slide it into the 2000 tranny? also do u just remove the one bolt and pull the sensor straight out of the housing ?

This may also be called the oss
This is the sensor located directly above the shifter cable connector connector, the one with two wires going to it on the drivers side.
I got the transmission from a 2000 and am putting it into a 1999. The 1999 connector is a little more rectangular and has guides on both sides.
The 2000 connector is more square and has a guide only on one side.
when I look the part up it shows the same for each year, so now im concerned with what year the tranny I bought was, although everything else bolted right up and all the other connectors went right on except for this one?
