No Park

02 will not go into Park, must start in neutral

my 98 is doing the same thing. i hope someone answers your post, so maybe it will apply to my truck also

it might be your shifter linkage came loose. There are a couple of bolt in the shifter that work loose I've been told its a common problem.. Happened in my van my brother inlaw who is a transmission guy fixed it for me so I dont kow exactly what he did.. It under the dash though on the steering callom. The indicator also came loose so if thats the deal thats your issue..
