93 f150 overdrive

I inherited my dads 93 f150.

It's a extended cab 5.0 with an 8' bed 4x2 automatic.

When I drive down the road, sometimes it bangs between shifts. Sometimes it shifts so smooth you cant even feel it. But it seems to be having a problem shifting into overdrive. It won't shift into overdrive until I hit like 45mph, and let off the gas for a moment. Once in, it has no problem shifting out when more power is needed to climb hills or more speed.

Is there an adjustment for the trans to make it shift into overdrive?
I'm not too smart when it comes to transmissions.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

AOD (PRN(D)D1) or E4OD (PRN(D)21 with lockout button)?

If it's an AOD, the TV cable can be adjusted, if it's an E4OD, no adjustments, electronically controlled.

Oops, sorry. AOD trans. Forgot to add that. Is the adjustment on the trans side or on top of the throttle body?

There's a very specific procedure for adjusting it - there's a video on Youtube but I don't know how accurate it is.
