Ok, so it sounds like the problem is the same that the Mustang had where a different tune fixes it. One would think Ford could simply take their stock tune, change the one part that the aftermarket tuners seem to have figured out, and then reflash the PCM to solve the problem.

One would think so...BUT, they probably set everything up like they do because it's pretty much dummy proof. They probably have virtually no warranty issues and can claim greater dependability at the loss of driveability. oh well... She is a pleasure to drive now.
