ok so i have kinda of a dumb question but i want to make sure i had a 4r70w trans in my truck than i swapped out my motor and put in a 4r100 but the 4r100 did not come with a dip stick it had a plug in it...can the 4r70w dip stick read the correct trans oil...

 

No, it will not read the correct level.

 

so i need a 4r100 trans dip stick than can it be a 4x4 dip stick or has to be one form a 2wd im just making sure so i get the correct fluid reading

 

Either 4x4 or 4x2 will work.

 

ok quick question should the trans have what looks like an extension where the dip stick is mine has one that about a couple inches tall or was that put in for shipping reasons
