i have a 1997 4.6 and earlyer tn when i was going from a stop i had to rev for it to catch and start moving. so i need to know if a 4r70w tranny out of other ford vehicles (mustang lincoln, explorer expedition ect) will fit or if it had to be out of an f150

Is your truck a 4X4? The output shafts are different lengths between 2wd and 4wd.

A trans out of , lets say, a crown vic, will work fine in your truck. You may have some different shift lever arangements, but those are easily swapped over. It would be easier to get one out of a like truck though. Good luck!
