m5od-r2 overhaul parts or zf5?

I've been trying to find a performance overhaul kit similar to g-forces t5 kit... Is there one in existence? Or should I try to locate a zf5?

I had the m5od behind a 300i6 in my old bronco and it held up great to ALOT of abuse... The truck had over 250k on it and I grenaded 2 8.8s and the trans held up great... And I loved the gearing in the trans, I was able to shift at 1100rpms....

Now I have the trans behind a mercruiser 351 small block in an f150. The axles are getting lockers in the near future along with 35s and gears. I don't plan on abusing the truck like the bronco, but I'd rather be safe then have the truck on the lift for several days...

I have a feeling everyone will say to locate a zf5... I've had over a dozen ford trucks from broncos to f250s... Some had the m5od, others the aluminum cased 3spd with OD (I hate the gearing in those), others had AODs and E4ods (junk), others had the cast iron 4 spds with the granny gears (kinda suck at higher speeds)... None of them had the zf5... The only zf5 I've ever seen was in a buddy's powerstroke and it had 5 gears + an extra low gear... It was awesome, but won't bolt to a small block...

The diesel ZF5 won't bolt to a 351, but one from any Ford gas motor except a Triton will.

If your buddy's had 5 gears plus a granny, it was a ZF6. Those were only found in diesels and Tritons. The ZF5 has 4 gears plus granny.

I know the diesel and modular trannies won't work... I just have never seen a truck with the trans in it... any tips on what to look for or where to find one?

For the record:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...using_patterns

It would have to be off of a 300 or 351 - a 460 ZF won't bolt up.

the 1988 F-250's came with the ZF 5 speed, I'm putting one into my F-250 to replace the 4 speed
