4r70w temp

Just put in a trans cooler and a trans temp gauge. I have been reading that the temp range is from 150 to 190 correct? Mine is reading 230 while driving and about 190 when I come to an idle. I just did a full tranny flid change. Drop the filter drain the converter. I made sure the tranny was pumping . Took the return hose off to see.

Why is it running so hot? Or is that normal? Did I over toruqe a hose clamp?

Where are you getting this temp reading from?

I know I should of put it in the feed line from the tranny but its in the return line. Got them swaped when I was doing it. But for getting a reading off the return line should be even cooler yet with two coolers on it right?

Alright took a couple of clamps oFf last nite and repositioned them. Also moved the temp wire away from the oil lines that run to the oil filter. That was maybe where I was getting a bad reading? It was at 280 before I messed with it bouncing back and forth from 180. But now it doesn't even read 100.

Oh how I love installing gauges.
