All,
I would love to put the zf6 in the expy, but it appears that those have a 24 spline output shaft, which would require use of a different transfercase. I found a site that lists the overall length as 684 mm on the zf5 which converts to 26.9". I measured the 4r100 at 31" so I need to figure out if there is room to move the crossmember that far or not.
JMC,
I thought that I could do my calculations before hand and send the driveshaft out while I have the rest of the truck torn apart. It is my daily driver so while it is down I will be driving my 74 bronco to work, and it is scary on the road! Just trying to expedite this process as much as possible.
Thanks again everyone I will keep you posted as to how this works out.
Shannon

I would measure it, and have one made.
I had a 77 bronco and used advance adapters for drive line. and we just measured the lengths for both drive shafts.

To use that transmission (it's a 4R100, you need a 4R70W) you will need to change the driveshaft (both shafts if it is a 4x4), the computer, wiring harness, and probably several other smaller things I haven't thought of.

Sell that trans and get the right one for your truck. It will be MUCH less expensive and a lot less labor, too.
