2005 Tranny Not Shifting Correctly

New to the formum so any help is appreciated.

I have an '05 F150 with the 5.3L and trailer towing package even though I've never towed one with it since it was new. I have 36000 miles and don't abuse it. Here lately I've noticed it isn't shifting correctly. The first thing I notice is there is a rattling noise coming from under the truck. Now is seems when I slow to 15-25mph to make a turn and then accelerate it's almost like the truck hesitates and the rpm's climb. I've also noticed that lately even when driving 40-55 mph the truck seems to "jerk" and shift weird whether the OD is on or off. I checked the fluid level and it's fine.

Any suggestions on where to look?

You might want to drop the transmission pan and see it there is alot of metal in it.
