90K Maintaince

I am about to roll 90k on my 05 (4R75W) and i believe the owners manual says to do a trans flush.

I have been told by several different people that doing a flush with that high of miles is a no no.

Is this true or just an old myth?

What could you recommend?

Thanks!

I don't know. I used to believe that with that many miles, if it wasn't broke, you were better off not doing a flush. But, that was when you could drain most of the fluid out and change it. There was a plug on the torque converter. Part of me says drop the pan and change the filter and just change the 5 or 6 qts you get out, and do this about every 30,000. Another side says the new method they have of power flushing with the cleaning kit is good. I had mine flushed at 60,000 and it is doing just fine with 102,000 on it. The service rep told me I was good till about 120,000. If you tow a lot, I think I would definitely go with the flush.

I do not like the flush, but I would do a full fluid exchange with a machine.
