is it tranny or just sensor?

Question is it tranny or just sensor?

my tranny went for a crap the other day...i dont have ANY gear but reverse....i can put it through all the gears and rev the motor and it wont go anywhere.Is it the tranny is toast....or is it just some sort of stupid sensor that Ford has put in there? please let me know as i plan to pull it out this weekend if it is the tranny

Nope, this is a real problem. Even if you disconnect all electricals on the transmission you will have reverse in the reverse position and 2nd gear in all forward positions.

but i dont even have 2nd gear i ONLY have reverse and thats it

That's why he said it's a REAL problem, not just a sensor. Rebuild time.

Yes, exactly. This is why I said that there is a real problem with the transmission. Having reverse only is worse.

If it were electrical, meaning sensor or other electrical issue, you would have at least reverse and one forward gear. Since you only have reverse that rules out electrical, and thus the possibility of a sensor issue.

So in other words, since you have reverse only and it isn't electrical, that means it's a bigger issue.
