On a 4R75 a core is definitely going to be required because those things are getting harder to come by nowadays. Getting a core back also helps keep the price where it is. The transmission package from Troyer also includes one hell of a nice multi plate custom stall torque converter. And, if you have a 4R75 then you do indeed get a 4R75 with his package instead of a 4R70.
