Transmission Prob Or PLug/Wires prob or both ?

I have a 2006 F150 XLT larait 4x4 crew cab with the 5.4ltr. The problem that i am having is that while cruising at around 45-50 mph If the truck starts to go up an incline and i do not change throttle position the transmission seems to jump in and out of OD. This seems to happen in the same place every time in my daily commute. I have turned the OD off and i don't have this problem. To add to the scenario when i press the throttle completely down the truck will skip and shutter like it is misfiring. I am curious if this is two seperate problems or just dofferent symptoms of the same problem. The Truck has 91k miles on it.

Thanks,

Time for a spark plug change. If that doesn't cure it, you may need one or more coils. You are experiencing a low grade misfire, not enough to trip the CEL.

Be aware of the plug sticking and breakage issues on that engine. Ford has a TSB on how to remove the plugs.

Search Ebay for "dg511" and get them from Global or Uneek. Use Motorcraft plugs, Rock Auto has them at a price as good as any.
