Shifting at WOT

This just started happening recently but whenever the truck shifts at WOT the lights dim and the battery light comes on until the shift is completed. Anybody have any incite as to what is causing this?

Also my truck seems to down shift early out of 4th or 3rd now causing a downshift that makes me kinda lurch forward that was never there before. Is this a bad thing? If so any way to correct this?

Well, I can authoritatively tell you that the transmission isn't causing that. Other than that, I have no idea.

Serpentine Belt slip. Get a Gatorback. I'd also check yer battery... perhaps it's due ...

More details on truck ... very little to go on here. Mods? Programmer settings - did you play with the shifting end-user adjustments? PCM flash? Tranny maintenance history? No idea on this one - IF it just started to do this. Try a KAM reset to allow the PCM to relearn.

I just replaced the battery but I went out and checked the connections anyway. It seems that the dude from autozone didn't tighten it down enough and it slides around the tray. I guess that is what is causing the first problem.

The truck is is all stock performance-wise but I did just put a an edge evolution on it. The thing is it started doing this about 3 days before I hooked up the edge.
The transmission has never been serviced, maybe its time for that?

Thanks for the help so far guys.

could be you are seeing belt slippage due to a alternator near its end? brushes dont last forever.

Good point. I'm no mechanic, but would that explain the dimming lights? The truck is trying to draw more power at WOT and the alternator is not able to have the battery fully up to where it needs to be thus causing the lights to dim?

I have noticed a whirring noise coming from (it seems) the alternator recently. Maybe it is nearing the end.
