Quick 5 speed question

I have a 97 4x4 and the 5 speed is going out. Was wondering if there is a difference between my 5 speed and a 2 wheel drive 5 speed from a 2002? Thanks!

I have an old (1997) 2wd 5-speed and would wonder what options there are to replace this unit ... so just piggybacking on this thread, but would love to know.
